Victims of the war in Tolima: Forgetfulness of humanity. A look at the protagonists' affectations on the reparation processes

Abstract

This article presents the results of an investigation into the process of reparation of victims carried out in several municipalities of Tolima, a department that has been drastically hit by the armed conflict. Following the work model carried out in Antioquia, in the Municipalities of Medellín and San Carlos, in this case the municipalities of Ibagué, Prado, Coyaima, Totarco and Dinde, were taken into account, these municipalities were identified as some of the main areas of the country affected by the war. We worked through discussion groups and interviews, with 240 victims, distributed in the municipalities, in order to establish the way in which they perceive, interpret and construct meanings of the reparation process, with respect to each component established in the Law 1448 of 2011. The meanings that the victims have constructed in the face of the reparation proposed by the State indicate the psychosocial and emotional implications that the armed conflict has left and are a sign of the psychosocial implications in these areas of the department. In this manner, the actions taken by the National Government for integral reparation leave the victims with a sense of inefficiency and carelessness.
