Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to present advances in the research on “Relevance and Social Impact of Legal Research: The Case of Law Program at University of Antioquia 1992-2009, CODI Act No. 589 of November 9, 2010 “ a very timely indeed, line of inquiry, to analyze the social use of their research knowledge and to determine what actions and projects should the Law Faculty implement to face the challenges posed by Law 1286 of 2009. During their research practice the docents of the program constructed the meanings of the central categories “relevance” and “social impact”; this outcome relates and interprets them by way of the meaning which is the interpretative sense given to things or actions arising from their experiences or relations with others , it consolidates or modifies with the passing of time and above all determines the practices, the actions and in general the way in which humans beings live their processes and interact with the world of life.
