The Strategic Relational Approach in Marxist debates on the state

The following reflection aims to introduce some relevant aspects of the Marxist theories about the State that arose from the 1960s on, particularly those that catalyzed and founded what we will later know as the relational strategic approach. It is claimed that this approach has its genesis in the discussions that Nicos Poulantzas initiated against other Marxist views of the state and that have later been developed and complemented by the theorist Bob Jessop. Some innovative aspects of this approach are highlighted in order to understand the increasingly complex web of relationships that take place in the contemporary State.
