The rise of the far-right and the shifting of discontent to the right

Abstract

This brief paper proposes to open a discussion around a complex phenomenon marked by its current expansion, which adds to a civilizational crisis where various crises intertwine, such as environmental, cultural, social, economic, ecological, and capital crises. This phenomenon is the rise of the far-right as a product of the shifting of dis-content to the right and the configuration of neo-fascisms in relation to capital; a discontent generated by the imposition of neoliberalism and its highly detrimental impacts on the vast majority of the global population, along with the insufficient or nonexistent solutions pro-vided by traditional politics. Through an analysis of texts and concrete situations where the imagos and interpretative frameworks of the far-right manifest, this paper seeks to identify some of their constitutive elements and show how, through the manipulation of emotions, this discontent was captured by the far-right through polarization and the creation of a hostile and virulent identity role. One of the most evident effects is the proliferation of the idea of a Civil War propagated by the far-right.
